This clip is with English sub titles. Language is Dutch. Journalists Thomas Rijsman and Nils Adriaans talk to Marcel Luske
It is my first attempt with the 5D MKll in a kind of guerilla shoot in Las Vegas.
One saturday afternoon produced this video as a web documentary. It is a portrait of pokerstar Marcel Luske (The Flying Dutchman, known for his poker song "Give a little bit, give a little bit of your chips to me"). He reflects on his life and comes to the conclusion that he owes his family because of the time invested in playing and being on te road so much. The Las Vegas part was shot with Canon 5D Mk ll, the Amsterdam part was shot with JVC GY HD 110. Edited in FCP7. Clips were transcoded to ProRes 422(HQ) with Streamclip before editing. Other software used was Pluraleyes to sync the external sound.
Due to the use of the 5D all was shot at 30 fps. Not displayed here is a 25 fps version, I succesfully created by using Denver Riddle’s suggested workflow shown on Vimeo by Philip Bloom. Edit master is ProRes 422 (HQ). Uploaded H264 copy to Vimeo.
Music track is called Wind of Summer, composed by Jack Francis and was found in the library of Shockwave-sound.com
